Abbey's Updates

This blog is intended to update everyone on Zoey and how she is doing in the NICU, but I thought I would make a side page and update everyone on how Abbey is doing as well.

Abbey's 4 month checkup!

We went to Abbey's 4 month checkup! Poor thing had to get shots =(
But!! you would never guess that this baby was only 5lbs when I left the Nicu with her!
She was in the 98% in her height! 77% in her weight and 66% in her head circumfrence!  I can not believe how much she has grown!! It is going by way to fast!! I just love her sweet face so much!



My Dearest Abbey,

I just woke up from taking a nap with you, and you are the sweetest baby to cuddle with.  I love that when you get restless I can just pull you close to me and wrap my arm around you, and you go right to sleep.  You are such a joy in my life, and you help me so much more then you realize.  If it weren't for you there is no telling where I would be emotionally because of zoey being in the hospital...But you help to keep my busy, and you brighten up my day when you smile that big cheesy smile of yours in the morning.  You are such a happy happy baby, and I couldn't imagine not having you with me every day.  These next couple of weeks are going to be so hard on being away from you.  I will be with Zoey in Fort Worth for her surgery and her recovery and you will be staying with Daddy, and Granny and Pops, back home.  I'm just so used to having you with me everyday that not having you with me is just going to break my heart!  You are so much fun to be around, and I love how you smile at everything!
I hope you know just how much you are loved, and when Zoey comes home that love won't change any...Both of you are so special to me.
I can't wait until the day that you me and zoey can just sit and play all day!  I know you miss her too, and every time I say her name to you, you start to smile.

Abbey is doing just wonderful herself!  Two Monday's ago we took her to her 2 month check up and she weighed 10lbs 1oz!  I can not believe how big she is getting!!  It kind of makes me sad to look at the pictures of her when we first brought her home and then to see her now!  She is wearing 3/6 month size clothes, and Zoey isn't even completely out of preemie clothes yet!  I guess those matching outfits are going to have to wait awhile!  Zoey has some catching up to do!  Abbey doing wonderful holding her head up and she is trying really hard to roll over!  She smiles all the time, and you can tell she really wants to talk!

Abbey is doing just wonderful and is getting so big!! She is a big help in making the time away from home go by fast. 

When we left the NICU Abbey weighed 5lbs 5oz, she had lost quite a bit in the beginning. 

(This was her the day we left, those clothes fit her much better now!)

She has not had any trouble catching up however!!  At her doctors appointment two weeks after we left the hospital she was up to 7lbs 6oz and 21 1/2 inches long! 

Her next doctors appointment is on May 15th, and I am so curious to find out what her weight is because she has gotten so chunky!  

(As I type this she is laying on my chest asleep and smiling just as big as she can smile!! I love it when she smiles in her sleep!  It just makes my day!)

Abbey's First Pedi! 

After her bath last night I decided to trim her nails and toe nails because they were getting a bit long...and then I had this brilliant idea of how cute would it be if I painted her little toe nails...so I did, and it is pretty darn cute! =)

Abbey didn't much care for the zoo, but we had a fun day anyway while she slept the entire time!

Easter!

She was so pretty in her little Easter dress!  Wish I could have put one on Zoey, but she wasn't really wearing anything other then the hospital shirts at the time...
